Think Before You Spray

I think I can safely say we all enjoy this time of year, it takes a long time coming but it’s always welcome. Feeling the sun on your back, eating alfresco, enjoying all the beautiful summer flowers and delicious fruit and veg, but of course there’s always a price to pay.

INSECTS.

And they are in abundance, flies everywhere, bees buzzing, wasps stinging, it’s a hive of activity but it’s part of what makes our summer.

You may have already worked out that I’m a ‘Live and Let Live’ kind of girl. I do my best to release rather than kill anything that comes my way. And yes I know flies and other bugs can be incredibly annoying but all I ask is ‘Think Before You Spray’, spraying them with insecticide will do you far more harm than the insects ever will!

Even though I do what I do for my own conscience, I’m not hugely precious about insects (except bees of course,) I am however quite precious about YOU! Insecticides are seriously deadly, not just for flies. There is plenty of research to prove it. If you think about it, if it can kill a fly that easily, it can’t really be that good for YOU can it?

So ditch your spray cans this summer and go green, protect your food with covers, get a fly swat, burn citronella candles when outside or just let the flying things out where they belong.

Kill them if you really want but don’t kill yourself in the process!
