This is very easy to make but very slow to dehydrate, but is well worth the effort, my kids love them! I usually do a big batch of this so I am making full use of my oven.

Ingredients :
- Any fruit you have in abundance is good, in summer strawberries or raspberries, in winter pears or apples, anything goes really. Some fruit needs to be cooked first, apples. apricots, cherries and plums etc remove peel, core and stones first (i couldn’t be bothered to peel my plums so ended up with a slightly tart leather but it was still good!) Pop in a pan with a little water or juice and gently stew until soft. You can add any spices at this stage too, I add ginger or cinnamon with my apples for a little extra tang but anything goes.
- Strawberries and raspberries are fine uncooked just clean them and liquidize. I always put a banana or two in too but it is not necessary.
Instructions :
- Once you have a puree, get as many trays as you think you need and cover with very good quality cling film. Pour out the puree as thin as possible onto your sheets until it is all used up (this can be quite tricky and they are rarely even but it doesn’t matter.) Pop your trays into an oven at a really low temperature of about 75°C and leave them for a minimum of twelve hours, I find doing them after dinner and leaving them over night works for me.
- If you have laid it out too thick it may take longer!
- When they are ready they will be pliable but not soggy, just take them out, cut them into manageable slices and enjoy.
