11 Nov Banish Winter Hands
My hands are always awful at this time of year, they get very dry and sandpapery, I do try to wear gloves (when I remember,) I put on lashings of hand cream (when I remember!) I even occasionally wear cotton sleep gloves to lock in the moisture at night which does work a bit but this is a much better cure for my dry hands and it is so easy you can do it in a jiffy whenever they are feeling a bit rough.
Do this over your kitchen sink so that you can rinse your hands afterwards and there is no mess. Cup one of your hands and pour in approx 1 tsp of olive oil, on top of the oil add approx one tsp of granulated sugar, rub the mixture thoroughly into your hands, both top and bottom until you’ve had enough. Rinse in warm or cold water, pat dry and apply a small amount of moisturizer…. I told you it was easy! Give it a try, my hands feel better than they have in ages after this mini treatment!
It works on your feet too, not so easy to do over the kitchen sink though! Try it before you have a bath or shower, the oil and the sugar will dissolve in the warm water and of course your hands get a treatment too! Don’t forget to moisturise afterwards.
