11 Nov Give Your Body Some Love!
Nutritional deficiencies can affect every single cell in our bodies and not eating the right foods long term can cause all number of problems leading eventually to chronic diseases like alzheimers, heart disease, depression, fatigue, cancer etc. But a few little changes to your diet now could really make all the difference to your future.
Our bodies are so amazingly clever that even if you feed them junk, they will still work…… in the short term anyway. We have inbuilt a myriad of resources and systems to combat just about everything we throw at them but those miraculous resources and systems won’t work forever and that’s when things really start to go wrong.
It is easy to take some of our health problems for granted, we can even learn to live with most things but why should we have to? Your doctor will invariably hand out drugs or offer surgery to combat your problems (all with their own set of side effects) but none of those are cures, they are just a sort of stop-gap really, until the next time.
When did your doctor last ask you what you eat? If you smoke? Drink? Or exercise? How can they offer a diagnosis without having the faintest idea about you and your life! Surely that can’t be right can it?
Millions of people could see there way to a much healthier life by just making some really simple changes like, eating fruit and veg every day, switching to wholemeal bread and brown rice/pasta, eating fish once a week, drinking water and snacking on nuts and seeds instead of reaching for processed food, white bread/pasta, sugary snacks and drinks, and alcohol.
Think about what you are doing to the most mind-blowing piece of kit you were lucky enough to be born with, give it some love and respect, then it will love you back for many years to come!
