12 Nov It’s time to clean up your act!
We all know how dangerous chemicals can be but do you really know how much exposure to them you are getting on a daily basis and how it is affecting your health, not just short term but long term too.
There are chemicals everywhere, just in our own home you will find them in the food we choose to eat, the water we drink, cleaning products, skin creams, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, shower gel and perfume. We have sprays to keep bugs away, others to make our houses smell sweet, washing detergents and softeners for our clothes (and God forbid if they need dry cleaning,) plastic packaging for our food and drink, treated furniture and carpets, the list is endless and all of it carries a risk.
Chemical sensitivity is becoming more prevalent and it is no wonder with the cocktail of different chemicals that are always there even if we can’t see them. Symptoms include headaches, fatigue, rashes, memory loss and aching limbs to start with but can get much worse with continued exposure and age.
It must be time to make a few changes for the better and to seriously consider reducing our daily exposure.
There are so many alternatives out there, organic food is the obvious one and is not as expensive as you thing if you go for a ‘box scheme.’* Ecover cleaning products are fantastically natural or you can make your own, it’s amazing what you can do with vinegar and lemon juice. Micro fibre cloths are great as they clean without the use of detergent. Choose natural deodorants (without aluminium which is a dangerous toxin.) Ditch the perfume/aftershave, you probably smell better without it anyway! Treat yourself to some organic face and body cream, shampoos etc** and always use a water filter.
It’s time to enjoy a cleaner way of living, it is seriously good for your health.
• I find by buying m organic veg from Abel and Cole I visit the supermarket less so waste less money on all those things you buy and don’t really need, yes, we all do it! There is nothing more righteous than receiving a big box of beautiful organic fruit and veg, lumps, bumps and all! I seriously recommend it!
** A huge percentage of what you put on your skin is absorbed into your body so if there are chemicals present they are all going in and will have to be dealt with like everything else, by the kidneys and the liver.
y smell better without them anyway! Treat yourself to some organic face and body cream, shampoos etc** and always use a water filter.
